Movement

From reducing stress, to improving sleep, to maintaining mobility, flexibility, muscle tone and bone strength, exercise has numerous documented benefits.  As a 2016 TIME Magazine article, The Forgotten Side of Cancer, states, “studies show that social support, mindfulness, meditation and exercise, among other holistic strategies, can reduce depression associated with cancer while also improving people’s ability to complete their treatment.”  Wellness Within offers a variety of movement classes and resources for those who have faced the trauma of cancer.  We invite you to explore these offerings and enjoy the nurturing benefits of movement!

Yin Yoga

A gentle and healing yin yoga practice, which uses props for poses so you feel safe and supported. A meditative, mostly floor-based class gives priority to the internal experience, You move slower, stretch deeply, and feel each pose before you flow to the next.

Gentle Nourishing Yoga

Gentle form of yoga, including restful, restorative postures.  We teach breathing practices to build lung strength, and some standing & seated poses for stability.  The movements are simple, allowing accommodation for most physical challenges, and deep enough to engage you both mentally and emotionally.
