Local blueberries and lavender are in season!

Summer crops are blossoming and growing well!  Soon we will be enjoying an abundance of tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, peppers and much more.  Check out locally grown produce and what’s currently in season at the Farmer’s Markets and area produce stores. Locally grown blueberries and lavender are in season; read the following emails from the growers to learn more about their products and where they are available: “Blue Acres Blueberry Farm is pleased to announce to our current and new friends that we have started our harvest for the 2013 blueberry season.  We will be attending the Auburn Farmers Market starting this coming Saturday, May 25th, 8 am - noon, and thereafter on each succeeding Saturday until the end of production.

For those who wish to come to our farm, we will be open on Memorial Day, May 27th, from 11 am to 4 pm, and then on weekend afternoons, Saturdays from 2 - 5 pm and Sundays 11 am - 5 pm, starting June 1st. See you at the market or at the farm.”

Yippee it’s Lavender Season again! Welcome back to our loyal customers and welcome to new lavender fans that have recently discovered Charleston Lavender Farm.

Products for Sale this year include: Fresh and dried bouquets, bulk lavender buds by the ounce and pound, organza and fabric sachets, bath salts, dryer sheets, bath soaks, massage oil, lavender mist linen spray, skin soother with aloe vera, closet hangers with lavender and cedar, soap, eye pillows, plants, essential oil, gift packs, carpet deodorizer, lotion, and dog flea powder.

Fresh and dry bouquets and lavender products will be on sale after June 18th, July, and the first 2 weeks in August at the following Foothill Farmers Markets. (www.foothillfarmersmarket.com):

  • Wednesday:    10 am to 1 pm Auburn Dewitt Center

June 23 & 30, July 14 & 21, and August 4 (Sundays) the farm will be open from 9 am – 1 pm for on-site sale of products, plants, and U-pick. For directions or any questions call 530-637-4190.

This year, Charleston Lavender Farm will be one of the gardens featured in the annual Garden Tour on July 20 sponsored by the Colfax Garden Club. The tour will include six gardens in the Colfax area. Watch for details in June.
