Loomis News: Event Feb. 20 Supports Wellness Within Programming

All net proceeds from the “One World Food and Dance Festival on Feb. 20 will benefit Wellness Within programming and the ability to offer free services. Wellness Within is a nonprofit Mind-Body Wellness Center in Roseville for patients, survivors and families coping with the stress of cancer. Programs offered are on nutrition and health coaching, movement for healing expressive arts and meditation and mindfulness.

The One World Food and Dance Festival will be held at The Flower Farm Inn at 4150 Auburn-Folsom Road in Loomis from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.

“Cancer does not discriminate. The One World Food & Dance Festival will celebrate vitality, movement and ethnic diversity by bringing multi-cultural dance performances from China, Italy, Scotland, Greece, Philippines, and Africa,” said festival organizer Randi Beasley. “The dancers are costumed and true performers. The entertainment will be lively and nonstop from 6:30 to 10 and for those brave enough, some audience participation. The Flower Farm will create a beautiful buffet table with foods from around the world.  This event is an opportunity for people in Loomis to experience other food and dance from other cultures. The festival celebrates joy and movement across all cultures, which aligns with Wellness Within's mission to engage in life and be mindful of the moments we have.”

The Feb. 20 festival, which is also a celebration of the Lunar New Year and the many cultures of the world, is for all ages. Families are encouraged to attend.

Entertainment includes Chinese lion dancers, Italian folk dancers, Scottish fiddler and African dancers.

A no-host bar will serve local Loomis Basin Brewery Beer and Casque wines. Coffee and water is included.
