Meet Jackie Kortright
We are so honored to have Rev. Jackie Kortright join our team as the "Deepening Our Spiritual Connections" facilitator. The first 7 week series in October-December 2015 was a huge hit with our clients, and therefore we will be offering more of these groups in 2016. If you haven't met the lovely Rev. Jackie already, we'll let her introduce herself, below:
I was born in Portland, Oregon but raised in Pennsylvania, Southern California, New Mexico and Northern California. I am a retired ordained United Church of Christ (Congregational) minister who served 32 years in the ministry. I have worked as an Inner City Urban minister in San Francisco as well as a local church pastor with the First Congregational Church in Auburn and with the United Methodist Church in Loomis. Throughout my ministry I have integrated a variety of faith/spiritual expressions into the Christian churches I have served. I have worked with both adults and youth doing small group work, faith exploration, preaching, pastoral counseling and social justice. I have traveled extensively and been part of a peace delegation to the Soviet Union in 1984 and also with Witness for Peace in Nicaragua. I have spent significant time working with an orphanage and pre-school in the Nyalenda Slums in Kisumu, Kenya.
I have been married for 46 years, have three children (two sons and a daughter) and an 18 year old granddaughter and an 8 year old grandson. I am a breast cancer survivor.
